Big greedy guts!

These days the hoteliers are getting more and more greedy and this is all the more apparent as the new year comes by. This new year started off on a wrong note as the Hotel savera managed to bust the New year bonhomie for almost all of us.
By being too greedy and the urge to make as much money as they could, they decided to build a wooden platform over the swimming pool and make it into a make shift dance floor.
Unfortunately, for the guests who had paid upwards of 75$ as a fee for this party, the dance floor collapsed, throwing everyone on it, into the swimming pool. All of this took place in and around 11.50 pm and the end result is that one of the unlucky guests ended up drowning. None of this would have occurred had the hotel management not gotten too eager to cash in on the new year and managed to uphold the safety rules.

Well for starters, they at least gave the entry money back.
I was there when the incident happened, so i think id be fair in saying, stupidity apart, accidents DO happen. it could have been prevented in hindsight, but thinking forward, i think it makes more sense to mandate any/ all parties to have at least a fire truck and an ambulance on stnadby for emergencies. and an in-house medical team ready to at least provide the first aid...

I was at the Sheraton towers when the whole thing went down there. I have to say that all that apart from mandating to have an ambulance and all that, it should always be 'safety first'.
This is one incident where the greed of the organisers got the better of them. I am a regular visitor of the savera hotel and i have to say that I am exactly aware of the swimming pool and the depth of it, from as little as 3 feet to abt 7-8 feet. To biuld a wooden stage over open water alone would not have gotten them the permit to hold the party there, in the sense that no government in its right mind would allow that.
at the least, they would allow the hotel to hold a 'pool party' where the swimming pool is kept open and is also well lit.
Since that would have meant that the organisers could not have sold as many tickets as they had sold this time around, they decided to improvise.
Take for example, the sheraton towers, they hosted a variety of parties from ball room to the swimming pool and here the swimming pool was kept open, there was only a little space available but it was neat, safe and everyone there including me, all had fun.
Where as at the Savera, a kid died, in three feet of water. Which is why I had titled this post as 'big greedy guts'. Accidents do happen, they do all the time, but not like this and all on acount of 'Money'.
