The sob stories and the scams that they are!

It is getting hard to make out what is a scam and what is not? with all the opportunities that are there, you would think that these scamsters would at least spend half the time that they spend on their scams and they would be making some good honest money, but unfortunately they prefer to scam us. You may have gotten a few emails of late, telling you a sob story and asking you for money, well, such emails, 99% of them anyway are scams designed to scam you out of your honest money.
So be careful when you click on a link in your email or if you are planning to send some money to some guy so as to help him or her out. It may well turn out to be the scam of the year.

Scammed by email link!

We all have heard of "Phishing"
well for those of you who do not know what 'phishing' is all about it is all about scamming.well,I am sure that by now you must have allr eceived somme email or the other,supposedly from Yahoo or Google,asking you to click on the link in THAT email and login.the problem is that if you click on the link in the email,then your login id as well as password will be obtained by the scammer.the link in the email will contain a code which enables the scammer to obtain the user id and password while allowing you to Log in.
But keep in mind that as you login the scammer obtains your login id and password at the same time.recently a top travel agent received an email allegedly from yahoo,but sent by a scammer telling him that something was wrong with his email account and that for security reasons he would have to log into his email using the link in the email.the problem was that email account was the one that the Travel agent used to condut gis business with and naturally the email account contained all the vital info for his business.once he clicked on the link and logged in,all his details went to the scammer and now his business info is being misused and he is not able to log back into this OWN email account.so the next time you get a link in your email,be careful!

EGOLD how safe is it?

Egold is a payment option by which we may choose to either make payment or receive payment for any online activities.Egold is actually quite consumer friendly and the value of money in your account actually relates to the price of the gold bar.so this may fluctuate but not that much.anyone can open an account and you can do so by following the link above.egold is also very secure and they use encryption methods for their clients.all that said of late,many scamsters are using the Egold's 'no information' policy to scam many people out of their funds.
Egold currently has a policy of not giving out any information of any sort regarding their customers,so if you have an account with Egold then any information you provide is kept safely.but this means that anyone who scams us and has an egold account we cannot get any information on him/her.so if you come across any site that only offers Egold as a payment option and no other payment option then chances are high that that site is fake/scam.so watch out for sites like that.that said,however,Egold by itself is an attractive payment option and i do use it but only if a site offers other payment options as well ion addition to Egold!

online companies- with pinch of salt!

There are many online companies that allege that they provide us with opportunities which may range from simple ad placing to posting onto public forums and programming jobs and coding and website designing.there are so many companies that offer some or all of the above.and the sad truth is that nearly half of those companies are scamsters.they do not pay on your successful completion of the job.
To avoid such things from happening to you what you can do is that before you join up with any company first find out
1.the company details
2.where the company is located
3.do a 'who is ' search[very very helpful]
4.go onine and see who can you report the scam to
these are some of the things that you can do to protect yourself from getting scammed!

Lottery scam! beware!

We all like to have a free lunch but the truth is that there is no such thing as a free lunch.there are may scamsters online and they all try their best to take undue advantage of us all.the lottery scam is one such scam.you may receive an email one day telling you that you have won a lottery and that email will ask you to contact a person whose number would have been given on that email.you will call up that person thinking that since you were able to reach him/her on the phone therefore this must the the real thing.and that person will tell you that in order to claim your millions of dollars of prize money you must send across some money to them to cover the transfer charges so that they can wire the money t0o your account.you think that you are going to be a millionaire and you would end up sending the required money which may be 200$ onwards.but then the scamster strikes.once they have gotten your money that is the last you will hear of him/her.your money is as good as gone.and even if you report this to the authorities and they try to trace the telephone number given in the email,they will soon find out that either it was a temp number or that the number is no longer in use.this is the 'lottery' scam ladies and gentlemen.please remember the following.
1.you cannot win a lottery without entering one
2.lottery companies more often than not contact their winners personally
3.no lottery company will ask you to pay any service charge/transfer charge
4.lottery company winnings can generally be viewed online .so use that to confirm whatever the email says.
5.there is indeed no such thing as a free lunch!

You are a lottery winner!

there are so many of us who have received this email telling us that we have won a lottery of so many million Euro's and asking us to claim it within ten days or so.they will generally ask us to call them at a certain number.and when we do that,the person on the other end,probably the scamster will ask us either for confidential bank account numbers or ask us to send him some money to pay for transit charges or so.
when we pay the transit charges that will be the end of it.we may as well say goodbye to our money at this stage.and even if we report this to the authorities,the scamster would have already deactivated that phone or thrown it away,thereby making it impossible to track him/her down.this is another one of those scams that many pople fall for.people please rememebr that if you had not bought a lottery ticket and entered into a lottery,then how on earth can you be declared a winner?there is just no such thing as a free lunch.so beware of such emails!delete them right away!

Phishing!

Phishing,i guess the name takes after 'fishing' because that is what it is really all about.fishing for information about you,your bank acounts,your paypal details,or any of your personal information.when it comes to scams,most if not all scams relay on one common factor,and that is human greed.we all love to receive free money but we all must remember that there is no such thing as a free lunch.not now,not ever!
Phishing generally is in the form of an email addressed to you and it may look like it is coming from a reputed company or something like that.the email in quesiton will say that you either have money in your account or that your account needs to be corrected or that you need to enter your bank details and so forth and such emails will give you a link and they will say that you must click on the link to login.say you have a paypal account,a phoshing email will ask you to login from that email itself with the link it would have provided.and when you do that,you will end up going to a site that will look like the paypal site but in reality it is asite set up by the scamster so as to get your paypal password.andonce you do that,you may as well say goodbye to the monies you have in your paypal account.so to avoid being caught by such 'phishing' scams,always open a fresh browser and then log in!it pays to be carefu and more so in the virtual world of the Internet!

there are so many scams onine that it would probably take a lot of space to just list them all out here and then to tell you all to avoid them,that would take even more space.so i have given a link to the site that does list most of the major scams so that you can just click on this title an go to them.this site does list most of the online scams that one does come across when online,so you will know what to watch out for!

right opportunity versus scams!

This is more difficult than most as there are so many scam offers on the net today.but one should not lose hope as there are some great offers that are for real.i shall discuss the scams later on but i just wanted to take this opportunity to say that there are ways that one can make a honest living online and that one does not have to get conned as long as one is careful.
for starters,do not divulge your bank details to any site or any person online.keep your primary email different from the one you use for any online opportunity.also make sure that you run regular checks on your pc.it also helps if you can check out the opportunity to see if they have provided an address of contact aswell as a phone number.thats all for now.until later!
