Industry goes flat as the U.S economy tries to ride out the blizzard!

The industrial output for the month of December remained flat in spite of the best efforts of the Fed to cajole the economy to start running again. It seems that people no loner want to purchase with the same fervor as they used to before. And on top of this, we get reports that the inflation is at its highest in the last 17 years. That is not really a surprise, with the energy prices shooting up to the roof, it was only a matter of time before the food and other essential items started soaring up.
One of the things about the energy prices was that every time it went up so did the essential commodities. Anyway, with the economy trying to ride out the blizzard that seems to be blowing, the last thing that they needed was another bit if bad news. It seems that is just about the only thing that we are getting these days!

Indian company bags Uranium mining contract!

At a time when the Nuclear deal seems to have reached an Impasse in the Indian parliament,an Indian company has secured for itself a contract o mine Uranium in Nigeria.this is a first of sorts,a first time that such a contract has been awarded to an Indian company.
Of course one should understand that this is a private venture and that the Government of India as such has nothing to do with it.but it makes sense that any such Uranium mined will be immediately be bought by India for its uses.a rough estimate of the amount of Uranium that could be mined in the area has been made and believe it or not it is around 30,000 metric tons of Uranium, which he says 'should be enough to meet India's requirement for the next 1,000 years'.so this is good news for India and the Indian government as they are trying so hard to ensure energy security for India.well done!
